Il y a dirig\u00e9 le d\u00e9partement pour l\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9miologie et la pr\u00e9vention des maladies transmissibles et le \u201eWHO Collaborating Centre for Traveller\u2019s Health\u201c. Il est jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent Adjunct Professor \u00e0 l\u2019University of Texas School of Public Health \u00e0 Houston.<\/p><p>Scientifiquement, il a fait des recherches concernant les \u00e9pid\u00e9miologies des maladies et accidents des voyageurs et des options prophylactiques efficaces. Il en r\u00e9sulte plus de 400 publications, dont de nombreuses sur le th\u00e8me des vaccinations. Comme directeur du \u201ecentre de vaccination\u201c \/ centre de m\u00e9decine des voyages il a eu la supervision d\u2019env. 1 million de vaccinations. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son exp\u00e9rience des infections \u201eexotiques\u201c il a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 bri\u00e8vement d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e dans des missions militaires internationales au profit de l\u2019ONU.<\/p><p>Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sident de la commission f\u00e9d\u00e9rale pour le plan de pand\u00e9mie influenza en faveur de l\u2019Office f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de la sant\u00e9 publique (OFSP) et vice-pr\u00e9sident de la commission f\u00e9d\u00e9rale pour les vaccinations ainsi que pour celle du terrorisme biologique. Il est consult\u00e9 r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement aupr\u00e8s de l\u2019OMS \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve comme expert de la m\u00e9decine des voyages et des rassemblements de masse.
